Our research at ERL focuses on questions centered in modern sedimentary systems, including rivers, marshes, deltas, lakes, estuaries, coastal and open ocean settings. In addition to methods in geochemistry, sedimentology, geomorphology and spatial analysis, we utilize the unique temporal and chemical characteristics of both fallout and lithogenic radionuclides (7Be, 137Cs, 210Pb, 239,240Pu, 234Th, 232Th, 230Th, 228Th) to examine a range of geological, biological and chemical processes in these environments.
We are located at the John C. Stennis Space Center, MS and are affiliated with the DMS Center for Trace Analysis (CETA). The primary purpose of ERL-CETA is to provide state-of-the-art analytical facilities for research purposes. In addition, we also provide analytical services to the public and private community. What we offer is high quality analytical and field capabilities which are typically not offerred through commercial analytical laboratories. |
