I have several varied hobbies, some of which I engage in quite often, others of which I only rarely do these days.

  • Coin Collecting - I've collected coins since high school, but other than still having some of my collection, I no longer put much time or effort into this hobby. Last year, I had to sell most of my collection to help support myself and my (at the time) roommate, so my collection is very thin these days.
  • Aquariums - I have one aquarium, a 20 gallon (I gave a 30 gallon aquarium to Curt when he was living in the apartment behind me; when he moved out (and ended our friendship for a short time), I've no idea what happened to the 30 gallon. Whenever I have free time, I'm usually too exhausted even to think about doing more than feeding the fish, although my current tank needs some extreme upkeep.
  • Digital Landscapes - Once upon a time, I was heavily into making digital landscapes. However, Windows being as unreliable as it is, I've lost all but 2 of my digital landscapes over the years. Click on the small image for the larger ones.

  • Photography - I've always liked photography, but rarely have a decent camera with which to take good pictures. I have some pictures I especially like; one of these is on Curt's page. For a short time, Curt did some modelling for me, as did Greg, the jobless roommate I had for a while. At some point, I'll include a page for my photography in this site. I've also photographed a few other people, and have a website up for it, which can be found at http://www.malegravenimages.com - although it's named after Curt (his last name inspired the name of the website), I still like the name and will keep it.
  • Flying - I love to fly! I'm not sure that should be considered a hobby, but it's something I love to do. I've flown only a few times; my first flight was from Jackson to Detroit, via Cincinnati, where I ended up stranded overnight, then back to Jackson again from Detroit via Atlanta. My second flight was from Gulfport to Atlanta (and of course back again). Third was from Jackson to Albany, via Cincinnati. My fourth flight was from Hattiesburg to Detroit, via Memphis. In May of 2005, I flew to San Francisco for Windows Server 2003 training. I ended up stranded in Houston on the way up, extending my entire trip time to 14 hours (with no cigarette during that time! Damn Houston for being a smoke-free airport!); my luggage finally showed up 2 days after I arrived. Even though I can't smoke on flights, flying itself is just so much fun! My last trip was in January/February of this year (2006) when I flew to Austin, Texas. With my new position, I'll hopefully be going off to training again and will once more enjoy flight.
  • Reading - I love to read. I mostly enjoy science fiction/fantasy, thrillers, and horror, although I do read a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction. Favorite authors include Anne McCaffery, Stephen King, John Saul, Dean Koontz, Piers Anthony (only the Incarnations of Immortality series, can't stand any of the Xanth novels), and multitudes of others, mostly obscure authors no one's heard of.
  • Planetside - Planetside is an MMOFPS (Massively-Multiplayer Online First Person Shooter) that Curt and I used to play. It's related to MMORPGs (Massively-Multiplayer Role Playing Games), except that there's very little roleplaying or interacting with the environment; it's completely PvP (Player versus Player). I stopped playing for a long time, but recently did begin playing with Curt again, but now that he's not having anything to do with me, obviously I don't now.
  • Everquest - Everquest was a long-time friend for Curt and myself, but Curt decided to leave the game in June of 2004. I stuck it out for a while, but playing other games with him left me little to no time for EQ, so I too left it. Other events, however, transpired to remove Curt from the gaming world. I continued playing EQ for a while, tried EQII but was bored with it, and went back to EQ until I discovered the World of Warcraft.
  • World of Warcraft - The World of Warcraft, or WoW as it's commonly called, totally blows EQ out of the water. While EQII is visually-stunning, WoW pretty much stomps all over it as well. WoW is a beautiful world, and unlike EQ or EQII, doesn't require time-consuming loading between areas (aka, "zoning"). I played a wide variety of characters (race and class combinations) on WoW before settling on the ones I currently play. So, I pretty much have character debris scattered across quite a few servers on the game. In January of this year (2006), Curt started playing WoW, which meant I had to start over on another server to play with him. However, we took our characters to the level cap of 60, then started new ones, which we have in the lower 20's, until Curt grew bored with WoW and we started playing PlanetSide once again. I still play WoW, of course, since it's my first love and I only play PS for Curt's sake. Update: Currently, I no longer play. After Curt's abandonment of me, I no longer have the stomach for playing WoW.
  • I'll list other hobbies as time goes on. I know anyone reading this site is just dying to see more of the things I do. LOL
