This 21-day study abroad course travels to examine up-close Tibet's fascinating cultural and religious heritage. In the tallest mountains in the world we will learn about Tibetan Buddhism, shamanism, nature-worship, and Islam. Together we will learn through visits to Buddhist monasteries, temples, Tibetan ceremonies and festivals, sacred lakes and mountains, and other sites of interest. Perhaps most of all, we will learn from interactions with Tibetans in their home country.

Dr. Capper will be your teacher for the trip. His scholarly specialty is Tibetan religion. An experienced traveler, he has visited Tibet, China, Japan, Europe, the Caribbean, and other places. He has taken students abroad several times to Jamaica and Tibet and knows what is required for a safe and happy study abroad program.
