and Richard C. DiPrima, 8th Ed., Wiley. This textbook is available at
our
campus bookstore.
Topics:
The main
topics include First-Order Differential Equations, First-Order Systems,
Linear Systems, Forcing and Resonance, Laplace Transforms.
Prerequisites: MAT 280
Multivariable
Calculus
(recommended), MAT 326 Linear Algebra (recommended).
Grading: There will be three
exams
whose total
counts 70%. The final exam is comprehensive and counts 30%. Please make
sure that under any circumstances there will be absolutely NO
MAKE-UP EXAMS. However, if, for some reason, you will have to
miss
any exam (any midterms or final), you must notify me at least one week
in advance, in order to reschedule the exam date or in order for you to
take exam earlier.
Your final grade will be determined mainly based upon the total points
earned on examinations. Also make sure that there is no provision
for doing extra or outside work to improve your grade.
A = 90.0% to 100%
B = 80.0% to 89.9%
C = 70.0% to 79.9%
D = 60.0% to 69.9%
F < 60.0%

Grades:
You can check your grades on the exams. You must know the last four
digits
of your student ID to check. Please do not let other people know your
student
ID.
NOTE:
The FINAL EXAM is OPTIONAL.
If you choose not to take the final exam, the letter grade currently
assigned will be your final grade for the semester. If you take the
final exam, your lowest exam grade will be replaced by the final exam
grade in case the final grade is higher than the lowest exam grade.
