SELECTED INITIATIVES IN EDUCATION:
- Mississippi Academy for Entry-Level Administrators. On behalf of the University of Southern Mississippi, served as co-developer of the academy for initially-licensed school administrators across the state.
- Eagle Institute for School Leaders. On behalf of the University of Southern Mississippi, developed and directs a professional development institute for senior school district administrators.
- Professional Goal-Setting and Peer Coaching Model. On behalf of the University of Southern Mississippi, developed a professional growth goal setting and peer mentoring model for practicing principals.
- Superintendent Examination for Educational Leadership Program Completers. Vignette-based examination for University of Southern Mississippi graduate candidates seeking specialist degree in district-level school leadership.
- The Friday Institute Policy and Action Series. Developed concept and inaugural conference plan for professional development series for senior school district leaders in North Carolina, 2004-2005.
- Mentor Program for New Chief State School Officers. Professional development and mentoring program created for the Council of Chief State School Officers, 2004-Present.
- High School Reform Initiative. Partnered with the Governor’s Office, the Public School Forum, and the Gates Foundation to promote high school reform models across North Carolina, 2003-2004.
- LEA Assistance Program (LEAAP). Partnered with the State Board of Education to develop a district level assistance program, 2002 – 2004.
- High Priority Schools Program. Partnered with the State Board of Education and North Carolina General Assembly to develop special assistance to struggling schools, 2001 – 2004.
- Strategic Plan for Closing the Achievement Gap and Raising the Performance of All Students. Partnered with the North Carolina State Board of Education and others to develop, adopt, and implement an initiative to close achievement gaps, 2000 – 2004.
- Student Accountability Policy. Partnered with Governor and State Board of Education to develop, adopt, and implement North Carolina's proficiency-based student promotion policy, 1999 – 2004.
