LIS 201. Introduction to Information Literacy. Introduction to practical and theoretical aspects of information
management, including skills in locating, retrieving, and using relevant, reliable information.

LIS 401: Reference Services and Sources (undergraduate). An introduction to reference materials, services, activities, and functions as well as methods for locating information.

University of Missouri:

Planning and Evaluation of Information Services
Focuses on the complexity of the planning process in libraries and other information agencies, including the influence of external environments on planning. Internal elements of the organization are discussed, as are external elements. The role of evaluation of personnel, budgets, access to information, and services is integrated into the process of providing services.

FS 2007 - Reference Sources and Services
Course Description: General reference sources, emphasis on print sources. Principles, developments, and trends in reference services and reference service organization. Also available as 4314 for undergraduate credit.

WS 2007 - Information Policy (T.A.)
Course Description: Examination of the roles of private and public sectors in information policy formation. Includes consideration of social, economic, political, and technological issues.

  • Served as a research subject for Moon-Heum's dissertation research on self-regulation in online courses, and Borculuun Yadamsuren's research about the use of an online newspaper.
  • Worked on the web page design and planning activities related to the Center for the Public Sphere.

Community Service:

  • Worked as a tutor at the Adult Learning Center in Columbia, Missouri in the ABE (Adult Basic Education) program. This fall I am becoming a certified ESL instructor.
