introduction to reference materials, services, activities, and functions as
well as methods for locating information.

Planning and Evaluation of Information Services
Focuses on the complexity of the planning process in libraries and other information
agencies, including the influence of external environments on planning. Internal
elements of the organization are discussed, as are external elements. The role
of evaluation of personnel, budgets, access to information, and services is
integrated into the process of providing services.

Course Description: General reference sources, emphasis on print sources. Principles, developments, and trends in reference services and reference service organization. Also available as 4314 for undergraduate credit.
